Parish of Sleat

Sleat is a coastal island parish, which lies on the Isle of Skye in Highland Council Area, some 13 miles (20 km) southwest of Kyle of Lochalsh and 23 miles (37 km) southeast of Portree in Highland and includes another small offshore island.

It is located in the old county of Invernessshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 171.6 sq. km (66.2 sq. miles). Sleat lies next to Strath parish. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
