Parish of YellYell is an island parish, which lies in Shetland Council Area, some 17 miles (27 km) northeast of Brae and 31 miles (50 km) north of Lerwick in Shetland and includes 4 other small offshore islands.
It is located in the old county of Shetland, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 211.7 sq. km (81.7 sq. miles). The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
