Parish of Grangemouth

Grangemouth is a coastal parish, which lies in Falkirk Council Area, some 3 miles (4 km) east of Falkirk in Falkirk and 7 miles (12 km) northwest of Bathgate in West Lothian and includes a small offshore island.

It is located in the old county of Stirlingshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 27.1 sq. km (10.4 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Polmont. Grangemouth has 6 neighbouring parishes; namely Airth, Bo'ness & Carriden, Falkirk, Larbert, Muiravonside and Slamannan. The boundaries of this parish were modified as a consequence of the Local Government (Scotland), 1894.
