Parish of New Kilpatrick

New Kilpatrick is a parish, which lies in East Dunbartonshire Council Area, some 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire and 6 miles (10 km) northwest of Glasgow in Glasgow City.

It is located in the old county of Dunbartonshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 49.5 sq. km (19.1 sq. miles). New Kilpatrick has 8 neighbouring parishes; namely Baldernock, Cadder, Glasgow, Govan, Killearn, Old Kilpatrick, Renfrew and Strathblane. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
