Parish of Irvine

Irvine is a small coastal parish, which lies in North Ayrshire Council Area, some 6 miles (9 km) east of Saltcoats in North Ayrshire and 5 miles (9 km) north of Troon in South Ayrshire and includes 2 small offshore islands.

It is located in the old county of Ayrshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 16 sq. km (6.1 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Irvine. Irvine has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Dreghorn, Dundonald, Kilwinning, Stevenston and Stewarton.
