Parish of CarmichaelCarmichael is a parish, which lies in South Lanarkshire Council Area, some 6 miles (10 km) northeast of Douglas and 9 miles (15 km) southeast of Carluke in South Lanarkshire.
It is located in the old county of Lanarkshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 46 sq. km (17.7 sq. miles). Carmichael has 6 neighbouring parishes; namely Covington, Douglas, Lanark, Lesmahagow, Pettinain and Wiston & Roberton.
