Parish of Kelso

Kelso is a parish, which lies in the Scottish Borders Council Area, some 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Coldstream and 10 miles (15 km) northeast of Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders.

It is located in the old county of Roxburghshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 22.7 sq. km (8.7 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Kelso. Kelso has 7 neighbouring parishes; namely Eckford, Ednam, Makerstoun, Nenthorn, Roxburgh, Smailholm and Sprouston. The boundaries of this parish were modified as a consequence of the Local Government (Scotland), 1894.
