Parish of GirvanGirvan is a coastal parish, which lies in South Ayrshire Council Area, some 11 miles (17 km) southwest of Maybole and 18 miles (30 km) southwest of Ayr in South Ayrshire.
It is located in the old county of Ayrshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 59.1 sq. km (22.8 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Girvan. Girvan has 4 neighbouring parishes; namely Barr, Colmonell, Dailly and Kirkoswald.
