Deborah (Debbie) Knox


1968 -

Curling champion. Born in Dunfermline, Knox lives with her family in Lochgelly (Fife). She was a member of the Curling Team which took the Gold Medal in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City (USA). Along with Knox, the team comprised Rhona Martin (b.1966), Fiona MacDonald (b.1974), Janice Rankin (b.1972) and Margaret Morton (b.1968).

A member of Glenfarg Curling Club, Knox has curled at all levels and won gold medals at the 1992 and 1999 Scottish ladies events. She has played in three World Championships, reaching the semi-finals in 2000. She has played at the Albertville Winter Olympics (1992), when curling was a demonstration sport only.

Knox was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List (2002).
