James Gordon

c.1615 - 1686

Author, cartographer and clergyman. Born in Pitlurg (Aberdeenshire), Gordon was the son of Robert Gordon of Straloch (1580 - 1661). He became the minister at Rothiemay (Moray). He worked with his father to revise maps of Scotland for inclusion in the noted world atlas by the Dutch cartographic publisher Willem Blaeu.

Gordon also wrote Scots Affair 1624 - 1651.
