Robert Lindsay of Pitscottiec.1532 - 1580
Historian. Born in Pitscottie (Fife), Lindsay is remembered for his The Historie and Cronicles of Scotland, 1436 - 1565, which was the first history of the country written in vernacular prose. This has been described as earnest and honest, while being quaint, amusing but generally trust-worthy.
