James Barrowman

Actor and singer. Born in Mount Vernon (Glasgow), Barrowman attended the primary school there until the age of eight when he moved to the United States with his family, settling in Joilet (Illinois). He studied Musical Theatre at the US International University in San Diego (California). He performs regularly on stage in the West End (London) and Broadway (New York), with major roles in productions such as Anything Goes, The Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast and Miss Saigon.

His films include the rather awful Shark Attack 3: Megalodon (2002) while his television work includes Dr Who, Torchwood and the Saturday morning children's show Live and Kicking for the BBC, together with the dramas Central Park West (1995) for CBS and Titans (2000) for NBC. Solo albums include Reflections from Broadway, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and John Barrowman swings Cole Porter.

He maintains homes in London and California.
