Rev. Hew Scott

1791 - 1872

Ecclesiastical editor. Born in Haddington, Scott was educated in Aberdeen. He took the charge of the parish of Anstruther Wester in 1839. He compiled the reference work Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae between 1866 and 1871. This is still regularly updated as a record of Ministers in the Church of Scotland since the Reformation and provides a historical and genealogical resource of the events of their lives, including births, deaths, marriages and children.
