Journalist, television and radio presenter. Born in Falkirk and brought up in Grangemouth, Adams was educated at Grangemouth High School and St. George's School for Girls in Edinburgh. She then read politics and economics at the University of Edinburgh. She joined Central Television in Birmingham in 1984, where she was able to secure an hour-long interview with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in 10 Downing Street, which did much for her career. She went on to work on STV's daily news programme Scotland Today (1988-90), followed by Scottish Women (1990-96), ITV Weekend Live, Central Weekend Live, Live Talk (2000-01) and, for Channel 5, It's Your Funeral (2001-03). She has also presented Kaye for the BBC and anchored the ITV day-time show Loose Women between 1999 and 2006, as well as making regular appearances on the intelligent game-show Countdown. Having also worked on Radio 5 Live, she took on presenting a morning phone-in programme Call Kaye for Radio Scotland in 2010. Adams also writes a weekly column in the Daily Record newspaper.
In 2005, Adams was appointed a UNICEF UK Ambassador for Scotland.
She now lives in Glasgow with her partner and two children.
