Alan Wylie

1938 -

Artist. Born in Glasgow, Wylie trained at the Glasgow School of Art, alongside George Devlin (b.1937), specialising in mural design and mosaics and graduating in 1960. He emigrated for Canada in 1967, settling in British Columbia in 1973.

He travels widely and exhibits internationally. His works include townscapes of Glasgow and European towns, together with the landscapes of North America and large public murals. His murals are featured prominent locations such as Vancouver International Airport, on the streets of York (Pennsylvania), Seattle (Washington), Magnolia (Arkansas) and twenty-four panels in the Glasgow School of Art.

Wylie served as the President of the Federation of Canadian Artists (1987-88) and has won several medals and honours from art societies in Canada and the United States.
