Bishop Clement

? - 1258

Bishop of Dunblane. Little is known about Clement's early life, but it is thought he was born in Scotland and educated in Paris, where he became an early adherent of St. Dominic and joined the Dominican Order. Clement returned to Scotland at the request of King Alexander II (1198 - 1249) to help establish the Dominican Order here. He was appointed to the See of Dunblane in 1233 and was ordained in Stow. He was responsible for restoring the property of the bishopric and for building Dunblane Cathedral.

He is buried in the choir of his cathedral.
