Broadcaster, who has become one of the most recognisable faces on Scottish television. Born in Elderslie (Renfrewshire), Nanjiani was educated at the University of Glasgow and joined Scottish Television as a trainee journalist in 1983. She got her break in 1987 when she stood in for Scotland Today anchor Sheena McDonald who was ill, and remained a presenter for the next nineteen years until she took voluntary severance in 2006. For STV, she has also presented Secret Scotland, a documentary series, and Eikon, a religious affairs programme. She has also hosted the Scottish Politician of the Year Awards. Nanjiani was awarded an MBE in 2019 for services to broadcasting in Scotland.
