Michelle McManus

1980 -

Singer. Born in Glasgow, McManus came to prominence in 2003 as the winner of the ITV reality series Pop Idol, where contestants compete for a career in the music industry. Regarded as overweight, she seemed unlikely to succeed, but battled through a succession of public votes to emerge as the winner. The resulting single All this Time reached No. 1 in the UK charts and remained there for three weeks. She remains in the music business and has appeared in You Are What You Eat with the controversial nutritionist Gillian McKeith (b. 1959).
