Kenneth (Ken) Robertson Bruce

1951 -

Broadcaster. Born in Glasgow, Bruce was educated at Hutchesons' Grammar School and worked as an accountant prior to beginning his broadcasting career in hospital radio in the city. He joining BBC Scotland as a staff announcer and news-reader and then presented the afternoon show on Radio Scotland before moving to London and BBC Radio Two in the early 1980s. When Terry Wogan moved to television in 1985, Bruce took over his prime morning slot, but now hosts the mid-morning programme with an audience exceeding 6.6 million.

Bruce has also presented the Eurovision Song Contest for Radio 2, Pick of the Week and travel programme Breakaway on Radio 4 and has worked for the BBC World Service. On television, he appears regularly on the quiz shows Call My Buff for the BBC and Countdown for Channel 4.
