Master chocolatier and patissier. Born and brought up in Methil (Fife), the son of a dock-worker, Curley began to learn how to cook with is grand-mother. He trained at Glenrothes College and then as a chef at Gleneagles Hotel and in Belgium. Curley won the William Heptinstall Scholarship in 1996 which allowed him to spend time extending his experience in France. He has worked at in some of Europe's top restaurants including the Savoy in London and with famous chefs such as Pierre Koffmann and Marco Pierre White.
Voted the best chocolatier in Britain (2006), Curley has won many awards. He represented Scotland in the culinary olympics, winning a gold medal.
With his Japanese wife, Curley runs a patisserie and chocolate shop in Richmond (Surrey).
