Henry Mavor1858 - 1915
Electrical Engineer. Born in Stranraer, Mavor, with his brother, established a successful company in Glasgow which manufactured dynamos for the generation of electricity, motors and switch-gear. Involved in early public lighting projects, and the design of electric maritime engines. He was the father of playwright O.H. Mavor (1888 - 1951).
