Christopher (Chris) Paterson


1978 -

Rugby player. Born in Edinburgh, Paterson began playing for Galashiels in 1996 before beginning a professional career with Glasgow in 1998. He played for Edinburgh (1999 - 2007), and Gloucester (2007-08) before returning to Edinburgh the following year. However it is for his record 109 international caps that Paterson his best known. He was the first Scot to play in four Rugby World Cup tournaments and took on the Captaincy of his national team for the 2007 Six Nations. Paterson was awarded an MBE in the New Year honours list of 2012.
