David Annand


1948 -

Sculptor. Annand trained at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee and became a teacher for fourteen years before becoming a full-time sculptor. His public works include The Ring in Perth (1989), the Robert Fergusson Statue in Edinburgh (2004) and the Reel of Three on the Dalmarnock Road Roundabout, Glasgow (2008). The National Gallery of Scotland hold his busts of poets Edwin Morgan (1920 - 2010) and Norman MacCaig (1910-96). Annand has received several awards for his work, including the Royal Scottish Academy's Latimer Award, the Benno Schotz Award and the Sir Otto Beit Medal from the Royal Society of British Sculptors.
