Actress. Born in Tollcross (Glasgow), Redmond read English at the University of St. Andrews and then trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She made her television debut in the early 1980s and has subsequently appeared in shows such as Taggart (1986 and 2010), Between the Lines (1992-93), The High Life (1994-95), Holby City (2000-02) and The Bill (2007). She has also made films for television and has made several notable performances on the stage. Redmond was awarded an MBE in the New Year's Honours List of 2013. She divides her time between homes in Edinburgh and North London.
