Neil Fachie


1984 -

Paralympic cyclist. Born in Aberdeen, Fachie was educated at Oldmachar Academy (Bridge of Don) before going on to read physics at the University of Aberdeen. He reached the final of the 100m sprint in the Beijing Paralympics (2008) but changed his sport to tandem cycling, for which he won a gold medal at the London Paralympics of 2012. Fachie was awarded an MBE in the New Year's Honours List of 2013 and now lives in Manchester.
