Broadcaster and journalist. Born in Glasgow and raised in Bearsden (East Dunbartonshire), Mir studied law at the University of Bristol. She has read the news for Scottish Television and then BBC Radio 5 Live, before joining Radio Scotland in 2009 as one of the anchors of Good Morning Scotland. She presented Radio 5 Live's Drive programme (2010-12), which won a Sony Gold Award in 2011 and again in 2012. She is co-presenter of Saturday Live for BBC Radio 4 and also reports for ITV's Tonight programme. She co-presented Scotland Decides, the results programme for the Scottish independence referendum in 2014 for ITV. She has also presented documentaries for BBC Radio 4 and the BBC World Service.
Mir won BBC Television's Celebrity Mastermind in 2015.
