Lady Alicia Scott1811 - 1900
Composer. Born Alicia Spottiswoode at Westruther (Scottish Borders), she married Lord John Scott, younger son of Charles Montagu Douglas Scott, the 4th Duke of Buccleuch (1772 - 1819), in 1836. She collected and wrote popular songs and is probably best remembered for 'Annie Laurie'.
