Saint Moluag
(St. Moluag)

c.520 - 592

An early Christian missionary to Scotland. Born in Ireland, he is thought to have come to Lismore in 562 AD. Church dedications to St. Moluag extend from the East to the West coast of Scotland.

He is said to have died at Ardclach (Highland) and is thought to lie buried on Lismore. His staff (the Bacchuill Mor or 'great staff') is held by the Livingstone family at Bachuil on Lismore.
