Rory Bremner

1961 -

Impressionist and comedian. Born in Morningside district of Edinburgh, the son of an army officer, Bremner was educated at Clifton Hall boarding school near Ratho. He first appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the late 1970s. His versatility in being able to impersonate a vast array of personalities, from royalty to politicians, both male and female, brought him prominence. Bremner began his television career on the comedy puppet show Spitting Image in 1984. He has been a regular on Whose Line Is It Anyway (1988) and Have I Got News For You (1992) and has had several series of his own on BBC and Channel 4 television.
