James Allan Bell1844 - ?
Railway engineer. Born in Portobello (Edinburgh). Bell worked on the Berwick-upon-Tweed - Edinburgh - Glasgow railway routes. He is remembered for building the line to link to the new Forth Bridge and, in Edinburgh, the Haymarket Tunnel and the tunnel under the Mound.
