MacDonnell of Glengarry Tartan

The MacDonnells of Glengarry were a part of the MacDonald clan, who began to assert their independence in the 16th Century. In 1539, the clan chief was given charter to lands in Glen Garry, Morar, Lochalsh, Lochcarron and Lochbroom.

Their castles included Strome Castle and, later, Invergarry Castle.
