Sydserff (Sydeserff)

A relatively uncommon name associated with East Lothian from the 13th C. The name probably originates from St. Serf.

There is a hamlet of Sydserf south of North Berwick, the main family home is at Ruchlaw near Stenton and a burial enclosure in the kirkyard of Whittingehame Parish Church.
