Tangy Wind Farm

Located on the west coast of the Kintyre Peninsula, the Tangy Wind Farm lies 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Campbeltown (Argyll and Bute). Commencing operation in 2002, the farm is capable of generating a total of 12.75 MW of electricity from fifteen 850 kW turbines, which stand 75m (246 feet) high. The farm cost £7 million and is owned by utility conglomerate Scottish & Southern Energy Plc headquartered in Perth.

The turbines were manufactured locally at Machrihanish by Danish-owned Vesta-Celtic Wind Technology.
