Dairsie Bridge and Dairsie Parish Church

A fine mediaeval bridge over the River Eden a half-mile (1 km) south of Dairsie (Fife), the Dairsie Bridge is a three-arched structure built c.1530 by James Beaton, Archbishop of St. Andrews (c.1473 - 1539). It is said to bear Beaton's initials and arms although these are now illegible. The bridge is 29.5m (97 feet) in length and, despite some Georgian additions and repairs, is largely original. Dairsie Castle and the Old Dairsie Parish Church lie nearby.
