Gordon Highlanders Regimental Museum

A military museum in the City of Aberdeen, situated at St. Luke's, Viewfield Road, the Gordon Highlanders Regimental Museum tells the story of one of Scotland's best known regiments which first paraded on 24th June 1794. Long associated with the northeast of Scotland, the Gordon Highlanders were described by Winston Churchill, then a young war correspondent, as 'the finest Regiment in the World'. They were awarded the Freedom of the City of Aberdeen in 1949. The tradition of the Gordons is carried on by The Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons) and by the museum which was opened in 1997 by HRH Prince Charles, the Duke of Rothesay.
