Dalmarnock Bridge

Dalmarnock Bridge on the River Clyde provides a road link between the South Lanarkshire settlement of Rutherglen and the district of Dalmarnock in Glasgow. Built in 1889-91 and comprising five riveted steel-plate girder spans, this was the first flat bridge in Glasgow. This replaced timber bridges which had been built on this site in 1821 and 1848. In 1997 it underwent reinforcement and refurbishment whilst retaining much of its original Gothic parapets and ornamental panelling.
