Cowgill Upper Reservoir

A small reservoir impounded by an earth embankment dam in South Lanarkshire, Cowgill Upper is located a half-mile (1 km) south of Cowgill Lower Reservoir and 2½ miles (4 km) southeast of Lamington. Opened in 1904 for the supply of drinking-water, it is now operated by Scottish Water and covers an area of 12.3 ha (30 acres).
