A tiny island in the Firth of Forth. Eyebroughy lies 200m off the East Lothian coast, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) north northeast of Gullane and 3 miles (5 km) west of North Berwick. The island is noted for a colony of cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo) and is a designated a Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Reserve. Geologically, Eyebroughy is formed from a sheet of intrusive trachyte of Lower Carboniferous age.
