Woodhead House

The substantial ruin of a 16th-century tower house in East Dunbartonshire, Woodhead House lies immediately to the northeast of Lennox Castle, a half-mile (1 km) southwest of Clachan of Campsie. This L-plan tower once comprised a three-storey rectangular main block with an attic, and a small stair-tower and was built for John Lennox of Balcorrach around 1572. It was altered in the 17th and 18th centuries, but pulled down to form a picturesque ruin 1840-41 after the building of Lennox Castle.
