A modest motor-racing track developed on the site of the former Kames Station and part of a branch line of the former Glasgow and South Western railway, the Kames Motorsport Complex is located a half-mile (0.8 km) south of Muirkirk in East Ayrshire. Owned and operated by the East Ayrshire Car Club, the facility opened in 1984 and comprises an 800-m (874-yard) track, together with a cafe and club-house. The complex hosts a series of rally and sprint events between March and December. The track was resurfaced in 2000 with support from lottery funding.
Adjacent is the nine-hole Muirkirk Golf Course.
