Victoria Bridge

The Victoria Bridge crosses the River Dee between Aberdeen Harbour and Torry, a half-mile (0.8 km) southeast of Aberdeen city centre. Formally opened on 2nd July 1881, the bridge comprises five segmental arches of between 18.3m (60 feet) and 20.1m (66 feet) each, giving a total length of 104m (342 feet). It is constructed in granite masonry, with a polished granite parapet, and cost £25,000. The bridge was built after 32 people were killed in the Dee Ferry Boat Disaster of 1876.
