Ken, Loch

A reservoir in The Glenkens district of Dumfries and Galloway, Loch Ken forms an expansion of the lower course of the Water of Ken between New Galloway and its junction with the River Dee. Water is released into the Galloway Hydro-Electric Scheme through the Glenlochar Barrage. Loch Ken is a centre for watersports, fishing and bird-watching.
