Loch nam Breac Buidhe

The most southerly of a significant group of reservoirs known as the Glen Clachaig Feeder Reservoir System in the Knapdale Forest of Argyll and Bute. These were named in 1814 by the engineer Hugh Baird (1770 - 1827), having been built to ensure a good supply of water to the Crinan Canal. Retained by two small earth embankment dams on its western side, Loch nam Breac Buidhe drains into Loch Clachaig. It is managed by Scottish Canals.
