One of the smaller of a significant group of reservoirs known as the Glen Clachaig Feeder Reservoir System in the Knapdale Forest of Argyll and Bute, Loch na Bric lies to the west of the larger Loch an Add. It is impounded by an earth embankment dam on its western side. These reservoirs were built to ensure a good supply of water to the Crinan Canal and were named in 1814 by the engineer Hugh Baird (1770 - 1827). Loch na Bric is now managed by Scottish Canals. The loch supports a recreational fishery for brown trout.
