River Ayr

The Ayr River, East Ayrshire, is sourced from the Ponesk Burn and a runoff stream from the Glenbuck Water, near the border with South Lanarkshire. Flowing west it passes through the settlements of Sorn and Catrine before entering South Ayrshire. Here it meanders through lowland south of Annbank and Auchincruive before emptying into Ayr Bay at Ayr.
