Endrick Water at Gartness

A river in Stirling Council Area, the Endrick Water rises in headstreams in the Gargunnock Hills to the south of Kippen. Formed by the confluence of the Backside and Burnfoot Burns, it flows south towards the Carron Valley Reservoir before turning west to meander nearly 30 miles (48 km) past Fintry, Balfron and Drymen. It eventually enters the southeast end of Loch Lomond, its largest tributary being the Blane Water. The valley through which it passes is known as Strathendrick or 'Sweet Innerdale'.
