Lauderdale

A district of the Scottish Borders comprising the basin of the Leader Water, Lauderdale extends southwards from the Lammermuir Hills to the valley of the River Tweed at Newtown St Boswells.

The name features in the Tweeddale, Ettrick & Lauderdale parliamentary constituency, notably held from its formation in 1985 until 1997 by David Steel (Lord Steel of Aikwood), but abolished following boundary changes in 2005.
