Lammer Law

The second highest of the Lammermuir Hills in East Lothian, Lammer Law lies towards their western margin, 3 miles (5 km) south southwest of Gifford. Lammer Law rises to 527m (1729 feet). The Lammer Law Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) extends to 991 ha (2448 acres) and comprises upland blanket bog and heather moor, with a variety of other habitats such as small valleys (cleuchs), woodland, scrub and open water. Designated in 1984, it includes the largest area of juniper scrub in the Lothians.
