Loch Dundreggan

(Dundreggan Reservoir)

An expansion of the River Moriston located 4 miles (6.5 km) north northwest of Fort Augustus, Loch Dundreggan (also known as the Dundreggan Reservoir) serves as part of the Garry-Moriston Hydro-Electric Power Scheme. The loch is retained by a modest dam, which includes a fish-pass to aid migrating salmon. Buried underground, 90m (295 feet) directly beneath the dam is an associated 37 MW power station.
