Buchanan Castle

Situated immediately west of the village of Drymen in Stirling Council Area, the remains of Buchanan Castle stand within landscaped policies. The Grahams of Montrose moved here from Mugdock in the 1640s although the present building only dates from 1854. Also in the policies are a lodge designed by William Playfair, an ice-house, stables, High Mains farmhouse and the Old House which dates from 1724.
